The Kopion is an aggressive, agile predator animal that travels in packs.[1]
Characteristics
It has four eyes. It is faster than the player sprinting and is about the size of a German Shepherd. It has scales on the back.[2]
They are usually in packs of 10 to 14,[2] but have been observed in packs of as few as 9.[3]
The horn of the kopion is made of a unique combination of bone and naturally-occurring carbon nanomaterials. When properly processed, it can be used to aid in bone regeneration with a far greater rate of success than lab-grown materials. This application has made it a valuable commodity.[4]
Subspecies
The kopion has four documented subspecies: the cave kopion, savannah kopion, forest kopion, and arctic kopion.[2] The cave kopion is easily identified by its rust-colored pelt, while both the pelts of savannah and forest kopion are striped. The savannah kopion's stripes are bold and dark, which is in contrast to the forest kopion's notably more muted mud-colored stripes set against an otherwise moss-colored pelt. The arctic kopion is denoted by dark leopard-like clouds that dot a gray pelt, and have been observed in the temperate tundra zones of MicroTech (planet).[3]
Trivia
Among other sounds used and mixed for the Kopion's voice, are sea lions, a wet baloon squeaking, and the cocker spaniel of one of the sound designers.[2]
